Overview

What is the Moodle Administrator Qualification?

The Moodle Administrator Qualification (MAQ) is a certification program developed by Moodle HQ for experienced administrators of the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) and Moodle Workplace.

Unlike traditional training courses, the MAQ is a program that systematically assesses and certifies your existing knowledge. This allows you to reinforce and validate your skills in the administration, optimization, and maintenance of Moodle platforms.

The program is based on the DigCompLMSAdmin framework, a competency model for learning management system administrators developed by the Moodle core team.

DigCompLMSAdmin Framework

The DigCompLMSAdmin Framework is a competency framework for Moodle administrators developed by Moodle based on the Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu). It consists of the following subject areas and their corresponding competency domains:

  • Infrastructure → Implementation, maintenance, and support
  • Operation → Page structure, user management, design and functionality, monitoring and analysis
  • Integration → Plugins & Integrations
  • Practice → Professional practice
