Certified information security in accordance with ISO 27001
An information security management system (ISMS) comprises all technical and organizational measures that companies use to systematically manage and continuously improve the protection of sensitive information. It creates clear processes for dealing with risks, incidents and security requirements.
Our ISMS is certified in accordance with the international ISO 27001 standard, which confirms that we protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information at a high level and in accordance with recognized best practices. It creates trust, transparency and the basis for sustainable information security in all areas of our work.
ISO 27001 certified ISMS
We have implemented an information security management system (ISMS) in accordance with the internationally recognized standard DIN ISO/IEC 27001:2017. All relevant areas - in particular hosting services, individual development and customer support - are fully integrated into the scope and are subject to continuous external monitoring.
Strict data protection requirements
We strictly adhere to the requirements of the GDPR and comprehensively explain in our privacy policy how personal data is processed and what rights customers have. Technical and organizational measures (TOM) are regularly reviewed in line with current standards and are accessible to customers as part of a concluded order processing contract.
Dedicated security team
We have a Moodle security team with experts from different teams. It regularly assesses security risks, proactively plans protective measures and ensures rapid communication in the event of security-relevant incidents. For our customers, this means maximum security, fast response times and transparent information in the event of security incidents.

Johannes is responsible for the ISMS and its effectiveness. He ensures that information security is strategically anchored, that the necessary resources are provided and that relevant decisions - for example on risks and measures - are made at the appropriate level.
Markus Samlenski
Information security officer
Markus is responsible for the management and further development of the ISMS. He ensures that all security processes - including the Moodle security team - meet the requirements of ISO 27001 and are continuously improved.
Anja Leh
ISMS project management
Anja coordinates the operational implementation and further development of the ISMS. She ensures that measures are implemented on time, internal audits are prepared and all stakeholders are effectively integrated into the ISMS processes.
Supplier management
We operate a structured supplier management system to ensure security along the entire supply chain. We regularly check our service providers for security requirements, document contractual obligations for information security and systematically assess risks. For example, our hosting takes place exclusively in ISO 27001-certified data centers.
Regular safety training
We conduct regular security training for all employees to raise awareness of information security in the long term. The content is practical, role-based and based on the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001. For our customers, this means a trained team that recognizes security-relevant risks, acts responsibly and actively contributes to the stability and security of their systems.
Continuous improvement process
Our continuous improvement process is an integral part of the ISMS in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001. Security processes, technical measures and organizational procedures are regularly reviewed, evaluated and further developed in a targeted manner. For our customers, this means a dynamic level of security that is constantly adapting to new threats and requirements - for permanently reliable and future-proof services.

Declaration of commitment to data protection
DIRECTIONS is a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to develop a data protection certification specifically for educational technologies. The aim is to create a uniform basis for the data protection-compliant use of digital systems in schools in line with the GDPR. We are a pilot partner in the research project and were one of the first providers to work on the catalog of criteria. As long as the certification is not yet available, providers can submit a voluntary commitment. This documents their alignment with the criteria already developed and promotes transparency and trust in the education sector.

Research with a future: BSFZ seal confirms eLeDia's innovative expertise
eLeDia.ai Tutor: AI made in Germany - data-secure, didactic, innovative
eLeDia was awarded the research grant seal of approval by the BSFZ - proof of our innovative strength.
The focus of the funded project is the development of an AI-based, valid and data-secure infrastructure for the creation of teaching and learning materials for universities, further education providers and companies. With the eLeDia.ai Tutor and a retrieval augmented generation (RAG) architecture, a system is being created that automatically generates didactic content and provides learners with interactive, context-related and data-sovereign content - without a cloud or data outflow.
As an innovative medium-sized company, eLeDia uses the research allowance under the FZulG to develop practical, sustainable and open solutions for the educational landscape - open source, transparent and future-oriented.
