What's new in Moodle 5.3?

In our free online information session, we'll introduce you to the most important new features in Moodle 5.3. The new version has been available since October 5, 2026. It is the next Long-Term Support (LTS) version following 4.5.
In this webinar, we'll show you what's new for instructors, learners, and administrators, which features are worth using right away, and where Moodle HQ is laying the groundwork for future versions.
Check out these new features, among others:
- Learning with Clear Goals:Clearly link learning objectives to activities and assessments, and have assignments graded by multiple evaluators
- A calmer interface:Dark Mode, uncluttered layouts, and guided “Back/Next” navigation through the course
- Practical Features for Teaching:Custom due dates for tests, a more organized question bank, and BigBlueButton ready to use right away
- Better Overview for Admins:Time-Based Analyses in the Report Generator, Role-Based Risks at a Glance, and Course Deletion in the Background
- More Choice in AI: Anthropic as Another Provider and an AI Usage Report for Each Course
