That was Learntec 2026

From May 5 to 7, it was that time of year again: We were at Learntec in Karlsruhe—one of the most important trade shows for digital learning and educational technologies. We’ve had three busy days filled with engaging conversations, new ideas, and a great deal of interest in our solutions. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our booth. The direct exchange, as well as your questions and suggestions, are of great value to us.

AI as the dominant topic

One clear takeaway from Learntec 2026: Artificial intelligence is the defining topic in our industry as well. Hardly a single presentation or conversation took place without mentioning AI. We, too, are actively exploring the opportunities and challenges presented by this technology. At the trade show, we were able to demonstrate specifically how AI can be integrated into Moodle in a way that complies with data protection regulations. The focus was particularly on the question of how organizations can leverage the benefits of AI without compromising data protection. This is exactly where our solutions come in: they enable the use of intelligent features within a secure and controlled environment. Digital Sovereignty

In addition to AI, another topic was particularly important to us: digital sovereignty. Especially in the field of education, it is crucial that digital learning solutions are not only powerful but also transparent and controllable. Open source provides an excellent foundation for this, as it offers insight into the technology and ensures adaptability. At the same time, we see it as our mission to combine this openness with a modern and engaging user experience.

Moodle Partner Ralley

Together with Think Modular and Lern.Link, we organized our first-ever Moodle Partner Rally this year. Trade show visitors had the opportunity to visit over 10 companies whose software or tools integrate seamlessly with a Moodle system. We’re delighted that this event led to many new connections and ideas.

Thank you to all the partners and visitors who took part in the Moodle Partner Rally!

Conclusion

Learntec 2026 has once again demonstrated just how dynamically the digital learning market is evolving. AI will continue to shape the industry—while at the same time, awareness of issues such as data protection and digital autonomy is growing.

We look forward to continuing this progress and shaping the future of digital learning together with you.

The next Learntec will take place from February 2 to 4, 2027.
