Customized program code for Moodle

Customized Moodle adaptations with program code - efficiently implemented with just a few lines of code

Sometimes a simple program code is enough to develop a tailor-made solution for Moodle - without any complex processes.

A practical example

A customer wanted users not to log in directly to Moodle, but to log in via an external page from which they would then be redirected back. This is a standard function in Moodle. However, a few users - for maintenance purposes, for example - should still be able to log in directly.

Our development team has found an elegant solution: Special users receive an unpublished direct link for logging into Moodle. The technical effort? Minimal - just a few lines of program code are enough.

How is such a solution created?

The development process is divided into several steps:

  • Analyze the customer's wishes
  • Understand the corresponding standard function in Moodle
  • Designing a customization
  • Develop and comprehensively test the program code
  • Integrate the solution into the customer's Moodle system
  • Train customers and support them with the application

Our developers follow the official Moodle coding guidelines to ensure that the solution remains compatible with future Moodle versions.
