Video conference without a Moodle user account

Video conferencing made easy: guests welcome, even without a Moodle account

Would you like to invite external participants to a video conference without having to create your own Moodle account? No problem - with BigBlueButton it's now very easy!

How guest access works

The BigBlueButton video conferencing service is already integrated into Moodle. The standard version can be replaced by a data protection-friendly alternative hosted in Germany. For individual appointments, you now have the option of inviting guests without Moodle access to the video conference.

To do this, simply send the participants a special access link to the BigBlueButton session - including an access code. Your guests can use this link to log directly into the video conference and take part in the session. Access is restricted to the conference - they cannot view the rest of the course content.

Tip

Activate guest access only for appointments where it is really necessary - this way your Moodle environment remains as secure as possible.
